The Heart of Gratefulness

Compassion
What is compassion 1.0 The heart of gratefulness

As a human being, we’re always chasing our own tail towards happiness. The most effective way to be happy is to have a heart of gratefulness. Many think that buying expensive clothes, Jewelry, traveling abroad and buying the latest gadget ever invented well give you enough happiness to last a lifetime. Then why once you achieve all these things you felt empty inside? Why you still crave for more materials things? Why you’re still seeking something that you can’t even define.

Ever heard the “Money can’t buy Happiness.” a Statement from your friends or families?  It’s so popular that the millennial nowadays replied, “Send it to my account.” Yes! it does give a superficial happiness at the moment. Hey, this is the digital age! People sit at the same table not talking anymore, instead there sending messages and Taking Pictures. But at the end of the day, the stress is there, you’re about to sleep and realize your credit card bill is tomorrow.

Remember the luxurious car you just bought? Or the recent trip from Korea because you believe that seeing your oppah Lee Min Ho will give you extreme happiness! It’s time to pay your due! A moment like this, you’ll surely say why I have to suffer this and that and so on. Some have the audacity to blame God for their misfortuned but forgot to even thank God when they receive blessings.

It’s the little things that you overlooked in your everyday life. The moment you woke up, you should thank God that you have that opportunity when others don’t. You came home safe and sound every day from work. Be grateful! How many people died in the street or had an accident while going home. Stop focusing on your problem instead focus on the blessings that our God the Father bestowed upon us.

Psalm 107:1 said, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his steadfast love endures forever!” I love this verse in the bible. We should learn to be grateful. When I say everything I mean it. The trials, pains, and suffering that we’ve been through lift all of them to God. Be thankful, because you will learn from them and they will shape and mold you into a greater person.

Have a heart of gratefulness. Only then you can find real happiness. Show compassion and help without asking for anything in return. When you do this you will find it’s not hard to be thankful at all. You will then realize how blessed you are compared to others. You will have a new mindset and perspective on things like you didn’t have before. Instead of finding fault with other people, you will now find blessings in them.

Why? Because you've earned a powerful weapon in this world and it’s a heart of gratefulness. A heart that enables you to face challenges head-on and makes you a better person inside out. This will give you courage and hope for a better future.
